Being an exceptional learner in a state without gifted education policy is a challenge so MAGE strives to help families, educators and caregivers ‘make exceptional work’. We are grateful for your participation in our third annual virtual event. Together we are building community and discussing strategies to best support the exceptional learners of Massachusetts.

    Take a deep dive on components of giftedness, finding strategies, and advocating for the person’s needs. Looking at students through a strengths based lens, Julie gives real world examples with practical strategies to help you help them at home or at school. The core goal of this presentation is increasing the viewers' understanding of the complex profile as a method to achieve the calm that comes with that understanding.

    Managing Emotional Intensity

    Looking at the neuroscience of emotional regulation in gifted brains, this presentation examines the why behind the big emotions that are common in this community. Dr. Matt works through the reflective strategies and practical guideposts adults can use to support co-regulation when working with exceptional children experiencing those big emotions. This helps adults to meet children with empathy and understanding.
